This is War

I have never been so exhausted in my life. I am mentally, physically, and emotionally worn out. I'm in a place right now where I can actually feel the spiritual warfare going on around me.

Whoever said that following Jesus would fill your life with sunshine, rainbows, and lollipops straight up lied. This is not something that is news to me. I've never bought into "the Prosperity Gospel".  Scripture clearly indicates that we have an adversary and that we are to be on the lookout.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8

And here lately, I'm really feeling like the prey.

My quiet time lately has been all about trusting the Lord in all of my trials. God is holy and sovereign and does all things well. I have to believe that to get through the day sometimes. I have to believe that He's working and moving in the most incredible way or else the adversary would not be fighting in my life the way that he is.

Spiritual warfare is real. Don't be deceived into thinking that it's not. Know that Satan is actively fighting against you to hurt you but also know that Jesus is actively fighting for you.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:37

What gives me hope is knowing that, despite not knowing how my individual circumstances will work themselves out, I know how everything ultimately works out. I know that Satan will be destroyed and Jesus will reign eternally and I will spend my eternity with Him.

And the devil ho had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Revelation 20:10

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:3 & 4
